Caribou think everything is so darn funny
Caribou just make me laugh, I can't help it. Here are some caribou facts!
- They have hooves the size of dinner plates
- The females are the only deer with antlers!
- Their name comes from a corruption of "xalibu", meaning "one who paws"...
- ...because they paw in the snow for lichen.
- The caribou at Shubenacadie Wildlife Park in Nova Scotia will let you scratch their noses, but you're probably not supposed to stick your hands in the enclosure.
